Too hot for tree felling

Slept well.......after my wine last night, didn't wake up until almost 9, went to bed at 1.30 though. Down and out into the garden with my breakfast...already felt hot! Soon after D, our neighbour, hubs pal, turned up with his saw and loppers to lend a hand to strip some more branches off the trunk of the big tree.

We worked hard, it got sooo hot....ended up covered in sawdust, stuck all over my suncream, looked like i had a bad dose of dandruff lol!

Todays blip is D having a breather after all his sawing.....if you look closely you can see much more of the trunk, and we lifted the leaf line, it looks so much better, allows more light in too.
In extras you can see the before and after in terms of the chopping and bagging up.....3 bin bags in the garage ready for the tip, plus all the branches and sticks.

I tidied most things away, had a second shower, then drove into town, treated myself to an iced latte.....wiled away an hour sat outside, there was a lovely breeze too

Back to the garden again, borrowed nextdoors garden bin, mines full, mowed the back lawn, edged it properly too, it does look good, even if i say so myself. I sat on the grass just looking around, thinking how nice it all looks... but theres no one here to share it with, felt really sad. I did say to hub, think you'd be proud love.

I tied up various olants, some of the crocosmias Lucifers were leaning forward, then watered all the pots, containers, baskets etc. put everything away again, came indoors for my tea.....it was 9.20pm by the time i sat down to eat my beef stroganoff and rice.

Im now having a glass of well deserved pink fizz......think i will pay for all my exertions tomorrow lol, achey muscles for sure.

Think ive finally decided on the colour of the emulsion for the hall stairs & landing too ;-)
Need to ring the decorator tomorrow to get the job booked in now, oh and i had a letter from NS&I telling me, 4 months after my initial contact, that they now require probate, and in the interim, hubs bonds have not been eligible for the monthly draws!!! Someone is going to cop it when I ring up tomorrow !!!!!!
