A Perfect Day!

One of those rare (at least in my world) perfect days that leave you feeling wonderful and at peace with the world. Although it could be the lasting effect of the bottle of Rose enjoyed beachside this evening;-)

We left home at 7am to get to South Milton Sands in South Devon. The lanes around this gorgeous spot are particularly narrow and when there is a high volume of traffic, the journey can take for ever. For us it was an easy 60 minute drive with the roof down.

After a walk along the coast path to Hope Cove we returned to spend the rest of the day on the beach.
The world and his wife( and hundreds of dogs) were all spread out on the main bay of sand but we elected to wade through the incoming tide, to reach a quieter part of the beach. (Extra)
It paid off as most of the time we had the area to ourselves apart from the odd paddle boarder or kayaker turning up.

It was HOT so Jorgie and I went for a few swims in between relaxing with a book (me) and digging huge holes in the sand (Jorgie)
JD just relaxed!

The whole day was topped off by a great al fresco meal in the beach cafe watching the sun go down.
