South Walney Island

We had an excellent trip today to South Walney Island, connected to Barrow-in-Furness by the Jubilee Bridge. It’s always exciting to visit new places that we’ve never been to before. The Nature Reserve there was fascinating to walk around, with an all round view - The Lake District fells to the north, the Lancashire fells to the NE, the Forest of Bowland a bit further south, and then panning round, Blackpool Tower clearly visible to the SE. Away to the south it was possible to make out high land in North Wales though difficult to identify exactly where.
