The Thinker....

At last another female Banded Demoiselle. They seem to be in short supply this year on the lake at Trentham Gardens. It's also National Dragonfly Week too. Dragonflies were spotted, but were hunting rather than resting.

We returned home before it got too hot. We were met with the cries from our cat - all the way up in the top of a Leylandii we have in the garden. Luckily it's only about 20 feet. She'd obviously gone in search of something feathered. We'd no idea how long she'd been up there, but soon came hurtling down when we banged her food dish.

Even she was quite put out with the hot weather. She didn't stray far for much of the day, and kept flopping on the tiled kitchen floor and hall to keep cool. At times I was tempted to join her.
