Romsdalsegge
We repacked the car with 3 extra people and 5 large rucksacks, and 5 pairs of boots, off back to the place we’d been close to, a couple of days ago. First, we drove through to Dombas, then through the Rauma valley again, then we drove up the Trollstiggen, that very windy road with all the waterfalls, as Claudia, another friend from Germany had never been there. After a shopping trip at Andalsnes, we got the gondola to around 800m, then walked up further to a little lake at about 1000m to set up our camp for the night.
After a while, the perfect pitch was found, right next to the lake, with a view north over the lake, and south to the Trollwegen. Together we cooked the most amazing chicken curry with rice, even washed down with a bottle of wine, and a coffee schnapps and biscuits. After the washing up, we walked up to the summit of Hogaksla, to watch the sun start to go down at 22.30. It’s so great to be able to hike whenever you want, and not to worry about it getting dark. We went to bed about midnight, so quiet and peaceful up there.
