A fish named Alex

Today is so warm, I took the dogs for a walk before breakfast and now we are inside trying to keep cool. The fish are sunning themselves in my little pond in the garden.

A couple of years ago one of my nieces, S, had a bowl with a fish called Annabelle. She decided that Annabelle was getting too big and asked if she could come to live in my pond. I said yes and then I decided that Annabelle would get lonely so I bought another fish and named it Alex. They happily lived in the pond for about 18 months and then one day a saw a heron flying off from the pond. Unfortunately only Alex remained. So of course I then had to get Alex another friend or two!
