Stunner

Another cloudless sky, beautiful warm day, right from first off. I didn’t rush out of bed but once up I headed straight off to Yellowcraig beach, stopping only to pick up a coffee (I’d hoped for an iced coffee but the farmshop didn’t do those. I was very pleased with myself for avoiding the lovely cakes and tarts they had though!).
Set off on a walk along the beach to North Berwick. Love this walk….the beach is vast, and, apart from the area immediately around where the path enters the sand, very quiet. There were some jellyfish stranded by the shoreline, looking like eyes (extra), and quite a few joyful dogs enjoying the space to run. I sent a video toT&Kt since I’d brought them here on the last day of their recent trip. Heston loved the freedom of the beach (and the ice cream!). Had a nice wander around the shops of the town, still no luck finding the right card for A’s birthday though. Bought a cake from the posh bakery and sat on the beach eating it and chatting to A who is still avoiding talking about the elephant in her house (sigh!). More wandering around, then later had dressed crab and chips sitting on a bench looking out to the Bass rock. The beach by the seabird centre was packed, so after I’d finished I headed back to Yellowcraig, this time against a wind that had sprung up so that my legs were slightly sandblasted! At one point had a lie down and snooze in a sheltered dune, then headed home…needed a shower and a cup of tea! For second day in a row didn’t feel like anything to eat in the evening given what I’d had all day, but spent some time making lists of things to do next week and then had an early night.
Feels like I’ve had my summer holiday now!
