The Puzzle

The red sign on the pub wall reads:-

The Puzzle Hall Inn

Originally a dwelling house, the Puzzle Hall Inn
At Sowerby Bridge dates back to the first half
Of the 17th century.
It's doors were first opened for the consumption
Of home brewed ale about a century later.
Then in 1905, a Mrs Lydia Platt built a tower
at the back of the pub to brew
"Platts of Sowerby Bridge Labelled Beer"
This "old world" public house came into the
wards fold in the 1930's and is popular with beer
drinkers all over the country.
