Drift Wood Assimulation

This large log CDs has come to rest about halfway across the Belhaven Saltmarsh in what is becoming a grassy island bank. Its been there for some time already  and is well enmeshed in the grasses so even if there os a really high tide it is unlikely to float off. It is already beginning to disintegrate and create an environment for all sorts of insects and lichen.
