Hochwasser/Flood

It is unusual for boats to be moored above street level but that is a direct consequence of the unreal amounts of rain we've had here.

My company has been asking for volunteers who live near these areas to help.  

This was the scene at the harbour in Schierstein this morning.  It floods in winter and that is normal.  I've never seen a flood in July in the 10 years I've been here.  I've never experienced a July where the temperatures didn't sit at over 30°C for the whole month and the lawn doesn't die.

I'm on my own today.  I say on my own, every time I go down to the kitchen I have cat company.  They recognise the sound of the fridge door opening.  There are no secrets in this house.
