Invertebrate budda munk

I imagine that a significant piece of a spider's brain must be dedicated to infinite patience! This muat be true for all types of spiders, orb web spiders, jumping spiders, wolf spiders..the whole lot, through hundreds of millions of years of evolution.
The ground crab spider is clever to find "hiding" spots he knows will be visited by "gourmet-insects" (for them, I'm not into the proteins of the future), then he just sits and waits, and waits, and waits, always alert, until the prey appears. And it may not just be a question of hours, he will go without food and wait patiently until time is right, just moving if a curious photographer approaches with its camera (sigh!). Spiders are known to starve for up to a couple of months (some spiders even for 6-8 months) by reducing metabolic rate without decreasing their capabilities. They may not reproduce while starving, but they certainly will not have a hunger tantrum!
Putting together their patience and starving ability, I guess spiders are like invertebrate version of a buddah munk!
