Martin Mere

Friday 16th July

Yay! A whole day off! I met SueT late morning at Martin Mere and we had a fabulous day taking in the whole site - hides, reedbed walk, wild walk, waterfowl gardens, ice cream and then ... we finished with the canoe safari, a 1hr peaceful paddle around the waterways. We certainly packed everything in to the day. Thanks Sue, it was fabulous!

I've spent the evening sorting and processing my photos. I really couldn't decide what to blip but decided on this one. I was fascinated with the white around its eyes, which then seems to dangle off. Does anyone know what the bird is? I've tried to search the net but haven't identified it yet.
