The map butterfly is fascinating as they have two generations in the summer season, the Spring generation and the Summer generation. This one represents the Summer generation having a different wing colouring when compared to the Spring ones. Even the lower side of the wings looked fabulous - in my opinion. This individual was keen on my Crocs shoes but this shot on the grass was better than those where it sat on my Crocs.
