Giving us the Eye

I indulged in a trip to Marwell Zoo. 

I know many people object to zoos, but they do allow us to see animals we would never be able to see in the wild, and provide protection and breeding programmes for some of the most vulnerable and endangered species.

The big cats are my favourite, and Marwell includes Amur Tigers and Snow Leopards in its care.  Typical of cats, the leopards were sleeping away the afternoon high up on rocky platforms in their shelter ... a baleful eye staring at us by one of them was the best us mortals were treated to.  One of the tigers (extra) was feeling more active.
