Winter Sunshine on Birch

A damp morning but after lunch the rain stopped and sunshine appeared and it was a pleasant end to the day. I captured these birch trees in the late afternoon sunshine - the low angle of the sun catching the white bark and making the brown vegetation glow a lovely deep orange colour.

A day of catching up with family on Skype and by telephone, and of eating comforting home cooked food - Alexander made cheese scones for lunch and Andy roast chicken for tea.
