South Shields

The ferry terminal- the huge arm balances the entry runway. When the tide comes in the terminal rises with the tide so the 'gangplank' is hinged near the bank so it can rise and fall.
The statue is called green bum. The green on the bum comes from copper on the wrap.
The ship is one of a group of small stainless steel sculptures on the quayside.
The man is Dave the brush who is working at South Shields maritime heritage building.
The quayside does marine safety training- the wetsuits were drying.
