Today’s Harvest #5
I had the garden all to myself this morning, well except for Tahoe and Bali. They accompanied me and defended our space from all those on the bicycle path near by.
First I harvested lettuces, Bok Choi, asparagus, blackberries and Jostaberries. What are Jostaberries you ask? They are a cross between gooseberries and currants. These are large, round, and purple-black.
Second I treated everything with a natural insecticide that is bee-safe, put bone meal around the tomato plants, scattered Sluggo around (slugs can do lots of damage and are prevalent here, and applied a mid-season dose of fertilizer.
Always lots of work to do in a garden. Tomorrow we water again. Peaceful morning well spent.
