My suburban life

Red-necked keelback

I barely slept at all last night for various reasons so, instead of getting crosser and more frustrated until dawn, I took myself out for a walk just before the sun rose.

I wanted to reward myself for being so proactive after my 5km walk with a croissant and coffee for early breakfast but it turned out that nowhere was open at 6am. This snake had the same idea. Snakes are common here but they’re usually quite shy so imagine my surprise when this one didn’t flinch at all. It’s the second snake to cross my path this week. Perhaps it’s the hot weather.
Extra is a cloudscape, sunrise over Hong Kong proper in the distance.
