Mystery Station

This strange structure dominates the view when one approaches the Koski municipality in SW Finland. Talking with a local I got to know it's an experimental Wind Energy Station. It didn't work. A storm broke it partially.


The Extra
I'm staying overnight in Tarvasjoki. There's a small river running through the community. This HES was built back in 1916 and it's still operating. The river – or rather a creek – can't possibly generate enough energy to kill the costs. Another mystery to me. It's marked up on the map
