Sunset in Les Alps

Taken from Spencer's camera, this was the view from the chalet when we arrived on Friday night. The chalet belongs to Sophie's parents and is located in the Maurienne Valley in Savoie. It was about an hour and a half ride from our house in Moûtiers, where Sophie picked us up on Friday after school. Sophie and her family hosted a weekend of skiing and flying for their parapente (paragliding) club and invited us to come. Her parents bought the old farm house back in the 1980's and the property was very cheap, but needed to be gutted. Now, almost 30 years later, the house is completely renovated and sleeps 26 people! It's an impressive house with an even more impressive view, and the coolest thing is that you can ski right to the house from the back side of the ski resort and you can also fly to the house from the ski resort! Takes a bit of coordinating with the cars, but really fun to do!
