Old Mill in Italy?

I think it looks like it could be in Tuscany but it is where we had our coffee this morning at Bodnant Gardens, a beautiful Nat Trust garden in N Wales. In fact our accommodation is effectively on the Bodnant estate so we didn’t have far to go for our early pre booked slot.

I’ve always wanted to visit and wasn’t at all disappointed though even arriving early we had to queue to get our coffee here and later for a cuppa at the pavilion. It didn’t feel crowed though as it’s an 80 acre park so plenty of space for everyone.
Beautiful views from the house and terraces.

We stayed about 4 hours and after a pit stop at our accommodation we drove down the valley to Betws Y Coed which was very busy. The Swallow falls had less water than I saw on my only previous visit when we watched salmon leaping up them but we had a pleasant shady walk up the river away from the crowds.

Stopped on the way back for a drink overlooking the historic bridge at Llanwrst. Much quieter and more pleasant,  blue skies and sun had brought people to the river bank and some were in the river.

We have booked our dinner tonight in Tal y Cafn just down the road as we were lucky to get a table last night in Llandudno. The promenade reminded us of Douglas, Isle of Man which is of course only a few miles away across the sea. Certainly a popular place at the moment. They were queuing to get into Weatherspoons as we passed, looked an interesting building - The Palladium, and still queuing 2 hours later when we left!
