A Lot Has Been Going On! (Backblip)

Hi there everyone. This is a backblip to give you some idea of what has been going on during these last few months.
We had a really bad situation when Barry felt poorly. He was not himself at all!  More shaky than usual, disorientated, and   so I took his temperature, and discovered that it was in the red, and had reached over 39.4C ! I didn't bother ringing 999, as Katrina had told me to ring her in an emergency (as she is a student Paramedic) And she will get an ambulance quicker! When the Paramedics turned up, there was also a senior one with them that can Prescribe drugs etc. He was extremely good. He took all Barry's vitals, and said he was really concerned, and that there was no time to waste. He said Barry had a really bad UTI with possible Sepsis, but he also said it could be Covid. By this time, I was beside myself with worry! I gave Barry a kiss goodbye, and then just had to wait for any news. It turns out that Barry had indeed got a serious UTI with Septicaemia. His heart rate was "through the roof" and his COPD was even worse than usual. Barry was in the hospital for over a week, having fluids, Xrays scans etc and of course, I didn't get to see him, due to the Covid situation. I did however, manage to speak to him on the phone when he was feeling a bit better. I discovered afterwards that it had been touch and go with Barry. He had signed a "Do not resuscitate" form, but wouldn't let them tell me. He didn't want me to know, as it would frighten me...bless him! Which, of course it would have!
Anyhow, after him coming back home, I had to monitor him carefully for any signs etc of any UTI's recurring. Well, since that day he has had numerous UTI's, and they discovered that he still had a bit of infection in the blood stream. So back he went to hospital again! He wasn't in there more than a couple of days though. They have now got him on a daily antibiotic for 6 months, and it has helped a great deal. Thank goodness!

On the 2nd July Barry went to pick up his new glasses from Boots. I couldn't come, as I was waiting for an Iceland delivery. He decided to use the stairs in the car park, as there was no lift at the time. He missed the bottom step, and fell to the floor! There was security staff, and Wilko assistants rushing around him. They wanted to send for an ambulance, but he declined. When he got home however, I insisted we ring the Dr to see if we could have the nurse take a look. As it happens they said to come straight in. He had a huge skin tear on his arm, and is still seeing the nurse 3 times a week to have it redressed.
So as, you can see, there has been quite a lot going on! In future though, I will be accompanying Barry wherever he goes!
Sorry this has been a long essay, but there have been a few people asking after Barry, and I promised I would let them know.

Thank you so much for following me.
Take care.
Love Theresa x
PS; There has been other incidents regarding Barry's health, but I just can't write anymore.....my fingers are aching.
