Forsythia

We started off with snow but fortunately it didn't last. It was a day of quick garden snaps, none of which were entirely successful (I was trying to do something vaguely artistic with drips on the washing line but couldn't get a decent focus on the central line of rain drops and I'm rubbish at manual focussing).

I've tried darkening the surround to make the main stem of interest and its flower stand out. Not sure how successful I've been... have I overdone it?
