The weather forecast was for rain and lightning so we didn’t plan to do a Wainwright, and walked up to Watendlath and had coffee and superb ginger cake at the cafe there. Then after walking down to Ashness, resisted the temptation to get the bus back to Keswick and walked up to Walla crag and down again. Eight plus miles.
What a tense football match last night. Congratulations to Gli Azzurri on their win, and very well done to England. Their first major final since 1966 and yes I do remember that.
Disgusting online racist abuse of some of our players after missing their penalties .
A bit worrying, for once I actually agree with something Boris Johnson has said, which was that the people posting this abuse online should get back under the stones from whence they crawled.
He could have helped by different actions in the past which he seems to have forgotten but anyway….. he said the right thing on this occasion.
