Old Kiln Lakes

Back in April I posted an image of Old Kiln Lakes as I was preparing for the first assignment of my course.  I have been revisiting it periodically and today took some shots of the lush vegetation that has sprung up around the old flooded chalk pits.  I'm planning to enter some images into the RPS latest project called "Frontiers", typically brownfield sites on the edges of our towns and cities.  I got there just as the rain was stopping and the sun was peaking through and the orchids and other wild flowers were full of butterflies, which would have been difficult to imagine back in April.
