We embarked on a small tour of bits of the mainland we hadn't been to or hadn't been to for a while.
Scapa Beach was our first stop; a wee stroll up the unfeasibly golden sands before Waulkmill Bay for a dander; butterflies in droves, so there were.
Then up over to Finstown and back in to the Metropolis for some dodgy lunch at the St Magnus Cafe. We survived. We managed to catch the brass bands / navy 'parade' too.
Then out to Tankerness / Deerness but it was drizzly so we headed back south and after a quick explore of the WWI structures just east of St Mary's, the lads kicked a ball about on the football pitch. Dugouts and everything (Holm and Away, har har!) I read a bit before a quiet evening in the sunshine, more reading.
