And in other news, Italy deserved to win. Controlled the ball and dictated most of the game. England looked dangerous when we did get forward, but that didn’t happen nearly often enough. And then when it got to penalties it felt crushingly inevitable. Still, if you had said at the start that we would make the final, I reckon most English people would have been quite happy with that.
