Begonia
Another showery day so ideal conditions for completing our house tidying and cleaning operations, but not so good for gardening which I would rather have been doing.
This is my Begonia sutherlandii, from Tanzania, which is in a pot beside the pond. When it dies down at the end of summer, I leave it in its pot in the greenhouse over winter, and am always amazed to see the tuber sprouting again in early summer. Once it gets going it grows quickly, and flowers profusely all summer. I like it better than many other begonias because the flowers are small and dainty and it has attractive foliage.
