We went to a small scale garden party this afternoon, about a dozen of us who have not all met up together probably since our new years eve 2019 do. Lots of chat and snacks and a bit of fizzy plonk to lubricate the throats. The general consensus was that, whilst it would be nice for England to win, it would not change our lives what ever the result. One lady confessed that she had thought she was unique in not being over excited with football, as every TV and radio programme and newspaper seems to tell us the whole country is gripped with passion.
Meanwhile Mark Cavendish continues in the Tour de France. It is hard to enthuse over the fact he came in 3 minutes before the final cut off time but if he continues to survive there will be two more chances for him to break Merckx record. He could do it on the Champs de Elysees, now that would be stylish
