Road Trip

Robin and I left Akbuk at 9.30 and arrived at our hotel in Cappadocia, land of cave housing and hot air balloons, in the heart of Turkey, some 850-900km travelled, and just over ten hours later !  A very long journey with very few and very brief stops - though we did pull up at a tractor and trucker's roadside diner and I'm not sure who was more discombobulated - them or us.... definitely one of our stranger moments today. I really enjoyed seeing the magnificent wide open landscape that is rural Turkey, the small villages and fields of sunflowers - always with mountains on the horizon in at least one direction.

The evening was spent eating, drinking and catching up with Murat the hotel owner and friend of several years. We are here for the week.
