Control Tower

For symmetry I though I would blip another grotty M6 service station on our return trip home. I know there are nicer ones but we needed a break about here.
It was crowded and grotty but, on the positive, it gave a close up view of the iconic 60's grade 2 listed tower (The Pennine Tower to give it its proper name).
My research tells me - "The lift cars were of a pentagon shape to ensure the two lift cars would fit within half of the tower structure" which I think quite interesting.   (Tin hat on)
