What a brilliant night Comic Relief 2013 was. Well done to them for portraying the people in need of help as human beings less lucky than most, not pitiful objects, and in an affirming rather than patronising way. Take note, Children In Need! There was just the right balance of funny and serious, and both were of excellent quality.

Call the Midwife/ One Born Every Minute was one of my favourite sketches of the evening, though there were many great ones. I'm afraid I can't bring myself to link to One Direction, so here is Peter Kay with James sitting down. I've always loved that song :-)

I hope there is a way of cleaning Sharpie off china!
