Crocosmia
The day started a bit overcast as I went out for a run, but the sun soon broke through. Nice plod round the cycle paths, though a bit muggy. Most of the afternoon was spent pottering about in the garden, trying to clear a bit of the jungle that is taking over - not sure I’ve made much of an impact. Dug up some baby beetroot which we’ll have tonight - my veg patch is so small that my husband always treats any of my homegrown produce with a great deal of reverence, given that the portions are so tiny!
Just as I was writing this my 91 year-old neighbour popped round with a lettuce from her allotment - puts my efforts to shame, but at least we’ll have more than just beetroot tonight!
The montbretia flowers are showing signs of life, so that will add a splash of orange to the garden soon. (Something else I have to try to keep under control though in case it takes over!)
