Pittenweem Bathing Pool

I went along the town to my friend, Catriona’s this morning for a catch up. It was so lovely to sit down with her and share what we’ve been up to. For a long time we’ve only been meeting if our walks coincide.

Then home again to pick up Geordie for a walk. On my way home I was very angry to see that the park very close to my house had about fifty cars parked in it. This is a lovely large patch of grass surrounded by a hedge, with three separate gates which we try to keep closed.
The park is ideal for dogs off the lead because they can’t get out. It’s used for ball games with dogs, and often training puppies in a safe space. People fly kites, small children play games. It’s multi-use, but most people call it the dog park. But today the project who are responsible for upgrading the pool were having a coffee morning to raise funds, so there was a total deluge of visitors arriving. An overspill car park was needed so the park was used. My fear is that this will happen more often over the summer, meaning it will not be available to people who normally use it. If it had rained, as was forecast, the grass would have been churned up and taken ages to recover.

This is a very small town, more like a village in fact, so hundreds of people descending on the place at once can cause problems.

Here endith today’s rant.
