Hunting fuses.  I decided to install the dash cam in the new car after getting a new fuse tap from the supplier (free of charge as well).  Managed to hide the wiring in the door pillar with very few issues but finding the right fuse to tap into on a modern car was a nightmare.  Eventually found one that was on the accessory circuit so that the dash cam will only come on when the ignition is on.
