Marbled White

This morning we went on a guided walk on Yew Hill, our local butterfly reserve, and were well rewarded with both flowers and butterflies. There were still lots of Pyramidal and Fragrant orchids, various vetches, Marjoram, and the  delightfully named Squinancywort, amongst the plants we found.
The butterflies included a few Common Blues, Small and  Large Skippers, Meadow Browns,  Ringlets, one Comma, a few Dark Green Fritillaries and lots of Marbled Whites. The Fritillaries  fly much too fast to photograph but this Marbled White feeding on Greater Knapweed  was much more obliging.
About to go out, as it's getting dark, to look for glow worms again.
