The journey home …..
Yet another back-blip; hopefully I’ll catch up by tomorrow!
It’s a long journey from Aberdeen to North Wales, and we’ve planned to take our time - in fact we’ll do it over two whole days. We stop first at Dundee’s waterfront, admiring new architecture, dockland redevelopment and local art projects. It’s very quiet, but I regret my failure to pre-book timed entrance to the V&A.
Onwards then, to Edinburgh’s Cramond village, sitting prettily where the river Almond flows into the Firth of Forth. The tide is too high for us to walk to the island, but there are plenty of views on offer and a good chance to stretch the legs.
Finally, it’s on to New Lanark where we spend the last night of our Scottish trip in a converted mill - part of the C18th industrial village founded by the utopian philanthropist, Robert Owen. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s a welcome reminder that not all wealth leads to the degradation of those who work to create it.

Thanks again for all your comments, stars and hearts. I made some impact on journals and comments yesterday, but I still have a way to go.
