Las Vegas to ...

… St. George, UT.

I think I’ll remember this day for a long, long time! 

Since our travel time was much shorter today than yesterday and we arranged with S to be at her house around noon we didn’t have to get up quite as early as the previous days. How’s that for a nice long sentence!?!

As I mentioned yesterday the actually travel time is only 2 hours but S lives in the different time zone so the total time for the trip is 3 hours.  We will gain that hour back when we return to Vegas on Friday.  That said … we were out of the condo and on the road a little after 9:00 am … later than we wanted. The drive to Sheryl’s was uneventful until we passed into Utah and got closer to her house.  Then the gorgeous views got very distracting … top picture here says it all!  It’s no wonder she moved here a couple of years ago from Las Vegas!  


After arriving at Sheryl’s gorgeous house we had lunch and after meeting her husband T she took us for a walk around their neighborhood.  She showed us the lava fields and the golf course which is being renovated. 

We returned to her house and simply sat around catching up on our lives … as did Bunker (bottom left picture).  We had first met each other at a blipmeet in Galveston, Texas three years ago.  So this is only our second time meeting.  It’s really speaks well of this community that you can meet people for only the second time and trust them enough to both stay at their house and have them stay with you!

We enjoyed dinner at a local restaurant and then they took us on a driving tour of St. George … it’s a lovely place.  When we returned we sat and enjoyed the view from the back yard.  Sheryl has a bird feeder in the back corner and the beautiful Lesser Goldfinch (new species for me!) was enjoying the last rays of the sun.

So now you know why I will remember this day for a long time to come!
