Survival

Although the Fennel plants have suffered from way too much water, a few Black Swallowtail caterpillars survived the Storm's rain and winds. The cat on the left is beginning to pupate, notice the thin filament attaching it to the plant. Top left; a Black Swallowtail chrysalis and bottom left; a Monarch chrysalis. Our pond thankfully didn't overflow, so our fishy friends are safe in their splashy home! And although there is lots of debris around to keep me busy with the clean-up, no trees or large limbs came down, thankfully!  My thoughts are with folks in the Northeast as the remnants of Elsa dumps wet stuff on their communities as she continues on her way as well as those in southern Texas!  Please be careful!
