Gorton’s Heroes Wood

I took Libby for a walk this afternoon , my legs needed stretching after a slow moving (aka stopped!) M62. I explored this fairly new war memorial in Debdale Park. I explained about Libby’s 3xgreat uncles, and her 2xgreat grandad and how important it was that she never forgot. I’m not sure she understood, but hopefully in time she will.

I avoided the M62 on the way home, and came back the longer way round but at least I kept moving.

England have just won the semi final , I guess the press will have them all as heroes, but I am afraid they don’t know the meaning of the word.
