Day 1

Of the holiday. I worked until 14.00, then frantically ran around packing the car for this year’s summer holiday. It took me so long to decide what to take, especially packing the camping fridge and food. By 19.30 we were were ready to set off, old Range Rover packed, bikes on the rack, all in the pouring rain. We drove about 450 km to a hotel on the motorway 100km north of Frankfurt, and got into bed at 1.00 am. It rained most of the way, but also fab sunset and rainbows on the way.
