Painting

I bought this little painting via Instagram from a gallery in Bath.  The painter, Nathan Ford painted a picture every day in lockdown one.  All a variant of the same thing,  a handful of flowers, weeds really, picked on his daily walk and plonked in a simple mug.  There were 90 in all.  I spent ages choosing the one I wanted online.  In some the flowers are spent, in some bright and perky.  Some he’s coloured, some are almost monochrome.  No idea how future generations will see it but for me it’s resonant, beautiful and open.

Suriya left and Susannah came to stay the night on the way to a course in West Dean.  Jolly evening.
