Survivors

It seemed to me that there were no young Blue Tits when I would have expected to see them in May, both in the garden and at Longshaw. I would put this down to the cold weather, and the failure of emergence of the caterpillars etc that they are fed on. However, at the moment, I'm seeing quite a few youngsters in the garden, so the second brood seems to have been more successful.
