Grey Heron
I was just a few yards from the first clearing when a man and his dog were walking towards me. He obviously spotted my camera and said that there was a lovely Heron on a tree further round the loch. I said that it was just who I had come to see. I had only walked a couple of steps further and noticed the young one who had just landed. I said "oh no this is the one I have come to see!" He looked at me as though I was mad and made a rather hasty exit. It was only afterword's it occurred to me that there would have been nothing there when he passed a few seconds before as the young one had only just landed. Anyway she got most of her fish, apart from a bit that the Magpie swooped on and another bit that was nabbed by a Coot. I think she is definitely favouring this clearing which may be further from the water but is more secluded from the Swans.
I had thought that perhaps I should be adding more variety to my blips, however I would still be going up to the loch to see the young one and this is now a good record of my morning routine.
