Fairfield Summit

Alone in 5m visibility. Fresh snow falling, wind scouring and drifting the snow to conceal footprints. Compass not working properly. Three failed attempts to find my preferred route off the summit. Abandoned route for the day and escaped off an alternative descent.

The route will be there for the next time - the trick was to ensure I will be too & I will be.
