Where are they?

The story goes like this:  

Both old nursery webs having nothing in them.  Spot new nursery web.  Eventually find nursery web spider nearby.  Discover she has something in her jaws. Closer inspection.  Looks like another spider.

Questions:
1.  How big are newly hatched spiderlings?
2.  Did predated spider predate spiderlings or are they hiding?
3.  How many creatures eat spiderlings?
4.  Can something eat them in one fell swoop?
5. Have they been drenched in the recent deluges?
6.  Will I find them?
