Doocot
Have had my parents staying over this weekend and we went out for lunch in Bathgate today with them, along with my sister and her husband. On the way back, we stopped off at the 17th century Alderstone House so I could photograph the doocot which is in the grounds there. Although the door is wide open, and you can clamber in, it's so dark you can hardly make out all the hundreds of pigeonholes inside.
We then got dropped off in Livingston centre so we could walk back. Livingston is a new town which is primarily designed for car drivers. This means the paths tend to take you away from the road and there are lots of underpasses. Now my Dad has his free bus pass he's thinking of getting the bus through here sometimes, but didn't know the best route to walk from the bus station to my house. So I wanted to walk one of the possible routes with him and as it was a lovely sunny day today, it seemed like a good day to do it.
