Chloe admiring Bothkennar Pools.

This morning Andrew and I took a stroll to Bothkennar Pools near Skinflats (wonderful name!)
The above was taken when Chloe stuck her head through one of the holes in the “hide”, a rusty steel sheet with various shapes cut out of it.
There are two pools, one fresh water, the other is salt water and both are filled with bird life. Apart from the usual suspects, Swans, Mallard, Tufties, Coot, etc we saw two families of Gadwall, one with five chicks, the other with, I think, seven. The RSPB have put up tern platforms and we were delighted to see some terns in residence. Sadly though I did not have my “real” camera with me, just my phone.
Extra photo for today is a general shot of one of the pools with the “big lum” of the old Longannet power station in the background.
Happy to report that the forecast rain has so far failed to materialise.
Meatballs and spaghetti for tonight’s tea. Yum!
