Getting ready...

...to roost. Recently, we've noticed that huge numbers of starlings have started to gather on the roof tops opposite our flat, before they fly off together to roost in a nearby hedge. A lot of them seem to be young birds (see extra, at 65x zoom), and before gathering they seem to fly around practising the art of murmuration. They haven't quite perfected it yet, but they're amazing to watch.

Not much achieved today, other than bits and pieces of housework, and some admin. Good to talk on the phone with Tom this evening.
