..my wonderful mother-in-law has asked to see the position of the poly-tunnel in relation to the house and byre, so here it is.

I'm on the hill looking down into the chicken enclosure. Beyond is the poly-tunnel, and byre to the left. The hill continues round to it's right, with the house beyond. So it is quite well sheltered from the strong winds we get (I hope).

The rear extension on the house was a downstairs bathroom (now housing the oil boiler where the bath was) and kitchen (now utility room). The velux window in the roof is the bathroom window seen here.

The byre is fitted with solar panels, 8 this side and 8 on the other side. These face East and West, not the ideal position, but the best we could do. They should provide 1/2 our electric during the summer months. The leanto shed on the other side of the byre is my tractor shed, and the hens live in the black shed on the near end.

Been busy planting in the tunnel today, and digging out the sloppy mud outside the tunnel door, and backfilling with stone.

It's been a nice day with bright sun to start, but clouding over later..

..and now I've taken the picture, think I need to concentrate on composition a bit more. You can just see the snow covered Quinag (pronounced Cue-knee-ag) on the horizon..

music, feel like I've done this today..
